Expertise

Eastern Laboratory Associates is owned and operated by, Tonette Godard, M.S., BSMT, MLT (ASCP) . Mrs. Godard has extensive laboratory knowledge and expertise, with over 20 years of experience managing and consulting high complexity laboratories. Mrs. Godard prides herself on her understanding of toxicology, as well as her mastery of clinical toxicology interpretations. As founder of Eastern Laboratory Associates, she has been a key agent in the planning, design, innovation, procurement, and ongoing operation of all aspects of ELA. As an owner and consultant, she continues those duties and personally works with lab personnel to constantly optimize testing procedures, data quality, and reporting.

Tonette earned her A.A.S. in medical laboratory technology in 2004 from Beaufort County Community College. She continued her studies while working at Vidant Health in 2005, earning her B.S. in Clinical Laboratory Science from Winston-Salem State University in 2012. In 2015, Tonette obtained her certification from American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) as a certified Clinical Laboratory Scientist. In 2016, she earned her M.S. from Walden University in Clinical Research Administration, while also serving as a phlebotomy instructor at Martin Community College since 2011.
